<a data-content-type=\"section-topic\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/port-sunlight\" rel=\"Follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Port Sunlight<\/a>, <a data-content-type=\"section-topic\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/new-ferry\" rel=\"Follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Ferry<\/a> and <a data-content-type=\"section-topic\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/spital\" rel=\"Follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spital<\/a> &#8211; with the aim of uncovering the hidden history of those towns. <\/p>\n<p><b> Receive newsletters with the latest news, sport and what&#8217;s on updates from the <a data-content-type=\"section\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/\" rel=\"Follow noopener\" target=\"_self\">Liverpool ECHO by signing up here<\/a> <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Alan said the idea started in lockdown when he began walking his dog Lulu and began to explore in more detail the Spital neighbourhood on his own doorstep.<\/p>\n<p>He discovered that Italian prisoners of war were once housed in scout huts on the edge of Dibbinsdale Nature Reserve woods in Spital, not far from where Harold Wilson lived.<\/p>\n<p>The paths through the woods were built by those prisoners of war, which is now a nature reserve and park filled with birdsong.<\/p>\n<p>The final result is that thirty hidden stories have been unearthed \u2013 all distilled down to four words each &#8211;
